NICRS works closely with State and Territory governments across the country to strengthen the service system.
In establishing the National Indigenous Critical Response Service across the country we have worked closely with State and Territory Police Departments to strengthen notification systems so we are able to provide assistance and support to families in a timely way. We have also worked closely with government departments in helping individuals and families access immediate and longer term support from departments such as Centrelink and Housing.
As required we advocate on behalf of our clients, and seek to strengthen the service system to ensure as a community we are better able to respond to the needs of individuals, families and communities experiencing loss and grief.
We also see it as a priority to influence change at a systems level to address disadvantage and strengthen individual, family and community resilience and social wellbeing. As required we advocate for changes to policies, programs and legislation.
