The word thirrili means strength and power in Bunuba language from the Fitzroy valley region of the Kimberley.

Its an apt name to describe an organisation that provides vital support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, following a sudden death such as suicide.

Thirrili, the national indigenous postvention service, has been operating since 2017.

It covers areas like the Kimberley, Pilbara and Northern Territory, and focuses on practical help for people, including a 24 hour support line.
